Evolution breeds new EPOS

TLM Technologies is delighted to announce the development of its next-generation EPOS solution, Evolution. Evolution has been specifically built for the Fuel and Convenience (F&C) sector – designed not only to deliver the commonplace functionality of traditional EPOS systems, but advanced features that more closely align with modern retail trends being witnessed in the sector.  The new solution will be the product of TLM’s in-house development team who are F&C veterans and previously instrumental in bringing multiple generations of successful sector-specific EPOS systems to market.

Evolution will deliver a broad variety of features that will significantly raise the bar for EPOS in the sector.  Developed on a non-proprietary open platform, Evolution is designed with change in mind, and is being built to be modified quickly and readily adapt to new and emerging retail trends.   Attractive functionality including mobile pay, self-checkout and off-premise cloud-based deployment will all be available upon release.

Commenting on the new solution, Lee Papper, CEO at TLM Technologies said “unlike EPOS systems F&C retailers have traditionally been used to, Evolution will be forever changing, keeping step with modern buyer behaviour, offering new customer experiences and making for a simple and reliable retail interface”.

Once live, the Evolution roadmap will be steered by the user community, powering quick release cycles, so as new features are requested they are developed and released in a fraction of the time experienced with traditional EPOS systems.  Users will then have the option to deploy any new feature on demand.

“Evolution has been built from the ground-up for a mobile-first world, and addresses the key challenges customers face when using EPOS. It can be deployed completely independent of back office systems, or work alongside them, and is fully compatible with Iridium2 terminals, therefore protecting existing investments in hardware” continues Papper.

TLM is also in the process of developing a back office solution that seamlessly integrates with both Evolution and its existing Head Office solution, Lava.

Evolution will be officially launched in April 2018, although with development well underway, the first glimpse of the product will be showcased at the forthcoming National Convenience Show in Birmingham on 24th – 26th April.
